Some Nigerians who had been under the illusion that the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) represented anything good for our contraption will remain eternally grateful to Mr. Lai Mohammed, the loquacious spokesperson of the ACN for giving us a clear insight into the mindset and mentality of the characters who populate the ACN, and by extension, its hybrid, the yet to be registered All Progressives Congress (APC)

The ACN which
has never been on record as condemning any of the numerous murderous terrorist attacks
perpetuated by terrorist organizations against innocent Nigerians suddenly
finds its voice and has the temerity to declare as unconstitutional the recent
proscription of terror groups by the Goodluck Jonathan Federal Government.
Perhaps the
bombings and killings of innocent Nigerians by Boko Haram was constitutional
and the Federal Government should have protected the right of the terror groups
to continue the senseless murder of thousands of Nigerians?
Earlier in
the week, another apologist for terror groups, Muhammed Buhari of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) had
likewise condemned the proscription of these same terrorist organizations, preferring to equate terrorism
with the quest for justice and equality.
ACN, well
done. Well done CPC. Well done APC. I do not blame you guys.
Part of the
blame goes to President Goodluck Jonathan who has allowed such criminality to
thrive under the guise of opposition politics! There is no other place I know
on earth where entities who call themselves politicians will come out in
support of murderous terrorists and yet be allowed to roam about freely in
society.
If Lai
Mohammed and his cohorts feel so strongly about the ‘unconstitutionality’ of
the proscription of terrorist organizations, they may as well travel to the
bases of these groups in Bornu State (northeastern Nigeria), and try to interfere with the operations
of our heroic soldiers who are giving their all to secure us all.
Nigerians, and
indeed the international community, are taking note.
