Crazed mobs
attack and behead them when they are in the Northern parts of the country;
Crazed
military and security mobs murder them when they are in their home land in the
Southern parts of the country;
As usual
with all such be-headings, as of the Igbo woman in Kano yesterday and mass killings , as of the Igbo
protesters in Asaba and Onitsha over the weekend, there will be no arrests, no
consequences and no comments from the ethnocentric political rulers and the heads of Nigeria's skewed security organizations which should be responsible for the protection of lives
and property.
Clearly, in
keeping with a Presidential desire to not treat those who gave him ‘5% votes’
(a category to which the Igbo’s belong) during the last Presidential elections
equally with those who gave 95% votes, there is a clear increase in the spate
of killings of Igbo’s across the Nigerian contraption – killings which
precipitated the Biafran genocide in the late 60’s.
Nigeria sure
is headed downhill towards a path it had trodden before, with lethal
consequences.
The Nigerian contraption simply has to be restructured and renegotiated as a solution to what appears an inevitable calamity.
